Date: 2 July 2011 PRESS RELEASE The Attention of the Management of MIKANO INTERNATIONAL LIMITED has been drawn to the publication in the Punch Newspaper of Saturday 25th June 2011 on the activities of an unknown group that hacked into our official website and in the process defaced same. The story also falsely and maliciously blamed MIKANO INTERNATIONAL LIMITED for the erratic power situation in the country. MIKANO INTERNATIONAL LIMITED will like to put on record that prior to its foray in the business of generator sales, there were other companies actively involved and still very much engaged in the sales and maintenance of generators, hence MIKANO INTERNATIONAL LIMITED cannot be held responsible for the inadequate provision of and/or epileptic electricity situation in the country. As a service provider of alternative source of energy, MIKANO INTERNATIONAL LIMITED will continue to carry on its activities with the highest sense of decorum and probity and as such will never frustrate, jeopardize nor sabotage the bold initiatives of the current government on enhancing power generation. MIKANO INTERNATIONAL LIMITED as a responsible corporate organization has generated a lot of employment and has infact diversified into other activities such as steel fabrication, sales of other electrical components and appliances such as gear switches, electrical panels, and earth moving equipments. Regrettably, the faceless organization that hacked into our website probably out of ignorance or reckless disregard to the problems of POWER HOLDING COMPANY OF NIGERIA PLC (PHCN) failed to appreciate that without alternative source of power, which has augmented supply from POWER HOLDING COMPANY OF NIGERIA PLC (PHCN), perhaps it would have been a different story today. If the reasoning of the faceless group are to be countenanced, motor dealers will be held responsible for the collapse of Volkswagen of Nigeria and the low productivity of Peugeot Automobile of Nigeria (PAN) and motorcycle (Okada) manufacturers would also be held accountable for the poor state of Nigerian transportation system. MIKANO INTERNATIONAL LIMITED will continue to support and compliment the efforts of the Federal Government and its agencies in the area of Power generation as it has indeed committed substantial investment in this direction. Thank you MANAGEMENT MIKANO INTERNATIONAL LIMITED |
